Went hiking with my brother in Archangel Valley (Near Hatcher Pass, north of Anchorage). Just a beautiful day. This is why I live in Alaska.

A long-since abandoned mine, and a big 'ol rock that looks like a face (at least to me).

Peering into the mine (under the face). You can't tell from this picture, but the mine is about 4 or 5 feet high, and there's a fair amount of water flowing out. No, I didn't go in-I'm stupid, not crazy!

Lookit them mountains!

Some nerdo that was ill-equipped for the hike.

This was taken standing on top of the face rock, looking back the valley. My brother's truck was about half way down the road (there was a blockade, so we walked from there)

Standing on the road, looking back. You can see some of the old mine equipment, rusting away. It's kind of hard to tell the scale of things....

....So this is a blow-up from the previous picture, where you can see a rock-climber in the lower-left. Yes, we took the easier route up the back!
